Project Linus at Wool-Tyme

The Ottawa Chapter of Project Linus meets at the Wool-Tyme retail store the second Thursday of every month.  While together, we knit or crochet blankets we are working on and label the blankets that are donated. We welcome new volunteers, however we do ask that you contact us at the store (613-225-9083) before you come as space is limited.
We are aware that not everyone can come in person to the meetings. If you would like to be involved by knitting/crocheting blanket for CHEO at home, please follow the guidelines below. We will accept donations of blankets (no smaller than 35"x35") to be donated to other agencies. Donations can be dropped off during regular store hours.

Donations (yarn or blankets) for CHEO must be ALL of the following:

  • try to keep blankets in gender neutral prints and colours,
  • made from new yarn/material,
  • cotton, fleece, or synthetic fibers only (NO WOOL),
  • machine washable and dryable,
  • be free of odours (e.g. smoke, perfume, strong laundry products),
  • free from pet hair.

Acceptable CHEO Blanket Sizes:

  • 36" x 48" (approx. 91.5cm x 122cm)
  • 40" x 60" (approx. 101.5cm x 152.5 cm)

Additional CHEO requirements are that you avoid knitting lacy blanket patterns or crocheting granny square blanket patterns as little fingers and toes can get caught up in the holes.

Thank you to everyone who has donated yarn, or made squares, blankets, or quilts.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING KEEP OTTAWA WARM!
