To celebrate the 200th birthday of this vibrant city, and the 40th birthday of Wool-Tyme, we have decided to collaborate with Fleece Artist using their Organic Cottage Sock line, to bring you yarns that display the colours of Ottawa that we love!
Toques on Ice - inspired by the unique and special experience of skating on the Rideau Canal, this colourway reminds us of bright colours amid an often long winter. Enjoying a skate after work (or maybe on your way there), grabbing a warm beavertail, or even just walking by seeing the canal open for the season, warms the heart on even the coldest days.
Blooming Bright - Tulip Festival is arguably the most colourful time of year in Ottawa, and we thought that this colourway truly captured the vibrant blooms we get to see. Each flower is unique, just like these skeins, and they bring so much light and joy to all who see them. Ottawa is a diverse place in every sense of the word, and these bright colours highlight that in such a special way.
Copper Hill - an iconic part of the landscape of Ottawa, Parliament Hill is found at the heart of this city and is visited by millions from near and far every year. The copper tones have changed over the years of exposure to the elements, just like we see in the yarn, but this treasured building remains a symbol of this country’s colourful history.
Falling Rivers - every season in Ottawa has something special, but the Autumn colours along the Ottawa River are a beautiful sight. The river has a rich history and was crucial to the development of this city and was important to those who called this place home before it became Ottawa as we know it today. The contrast of vibrant fall colours and the calming blues of the water make it a cozy yarn for any time of year.
These wonderful yarns are lovingly hand-dyed, so no two are the same. Please keep this in mind when shopping that every skein is unique.
Please note, pictures may not reflect the true colour due to photography or the device on which you are viewing it.
