WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING
A Letter to the Customers from Colleen
Hello from half of the Shipping department 😊 and resident colour magpie.
I recently returned from a few days away in the Finger Lakes, and did what most crafter’s do; I worked on a project and explored local yarn stores. I adore chatting with other yarnies, and will admit to playing the comparison game, “Oh, we have that yarn, I wish we carried that colour! Check out that local dyer.” etc.
Working at Wool-Tyme for the past three years has made me so spoiled, not only with the massive selection of yarns, but with the amazing customers and coworkers that I get to spend time with every shift. Suggesting what fibres and colours to mix together for customer’s projects has proven to be one of the highlights of my job.
I am in love with some of our newest acquisitions, and feel the urge to quickly finish my current (a baby Flax by Tin Can Knits in Ultra Alpaca) so I can cast on something new and shiny.
Speaking of new and shiny, Andrea Mowry’s latest pattern has lured me in. I am thinking of using Noro Malvinas and a couple Rios colours (the new Gemini colourway is calling to me), but haven’t settled on the third. Whatever I choose is guaranteed to be bright and colourful, and I can’t wait to show it off. Assuming nothing newer catches my eye.
Can’t wait to see you in store, or help you
online…
