Brioche Basics with Frankie
Brioche knitting is not nearly as hard as it looks! You can create beautiful, complex-looking items using this technique. Brioche is a form of double-knitting that produces deep textural patterns which are shadowed or highlighted with a second shade. In this 2 part series, you will learn the basics of Brioche knitting, including the cast on for knitting Brioche flat and knitting Brioche in the round, learn the basic Brioche knitting technique, the finishing/casting off of brioche, and troubleshooting, and get started on a personal project.

Skills Required: Cast on, knit, purl, cast off, k2tog, ssk, yarn over.
- light to medium SOLID colour of knitting worsted weight yarn (suggested yarn: 1 ball of Canadiana, Classic Wool, Regal*, or Cascade 220*) *Needs to be wound into a ball prior to class.
- set of 4.0 mm needles
- All your other knitting "stuff" (tape measures, stitch markers, blunt tip sewing needle, pen or pencil and notebook)
- Part 1 – none
- Part 2 – will be assigned in Part 1.
